NUBIA WORKSHOPS 2023

On 18 and 19 May, espronceda will present interactive and immersive workshops on new technologies. The workshops will be given by:

 

Matthew Yee-King is a British electronic musician, percussionist and researcher based in London, who performs music as Yee-King. He is known for his background in science and genetics applied to music, including his celebrated 2001 release of Drill ‘n’ bass SuperUser, released by Rephlex Records, his work with Finn Peters on creating music from brainwaves, and his doctoral work on the application of artificial intelligence techniques to automatic synthesizer programming. Goodnight Toby”, a track from SuperUser, was included in FACT magazine’s list of the top 100 IDM tracks. As of 2020, he is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Carlos García Reche, with a degree in Composition from the Conservatori Liceu. Master in Music and Sound, ENTI, UB (2021). Orchestral, chamber and solo instrument compositions. Orchestral models and composition for audiovisual media. Self-taught pianist and keyboard player. Editor of editorials and music reviews.

Esen Küçüktütüncü is a documentary filmmaker, visual artist and Virtual Reality researcher. After shooting two mini-documentaries during her studies at the Lycée Français Notre Dame de Sion, she graduated from Bahçeşehir University with the thesis “Obsol-escence: Pursuit of Rewriting One’s Past” along with an interactive installation. Between 2018-2020, she was part of TDA Global Cycling, undertaking long-distance cycling expeditions through West Africa and Southeast Asia and documenting the journey. After the Ayn-ı Galip exhibition, he started producing works in Augmented and Virtual Reality. Her latest work, “Disintegrate”, was exhibited at +D within the Virtual Museum Project (MEKAN.SPACE), an exhibition event within the framework of Sonar Istanbul 2020. She completed her master’s degree in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and is currently a PhD student at Universitat Barcelona within the Event Lab under the supervision of Mel Slater.

Fran Macía Varela is a VR developer with a background in neuropsychology and extensive technical knowledge of art, audio and research.
