ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture presents IMMENSIVA DAYS 2026, a programme of educational and professional encounters taking place from 10 to 13 November as part of the seventh edition of IMMENSIVA FESTIVAL.
Bringing together international artists, university students, researchers, cultural institutions and XR professionals, IMMENSIVA DAYS creates a space for knowledge exchange, artistic experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of immersive art and emerging technologies. Through a series of university visits, immersive project demonstrations, expert talks and professional encounters, the programme offers participants the opportunity to discover innovative approaches to virtual and mixed reality, interactive storytelling and digital cultural experiences.
Under the festival’s curatorial theme, Collective Cartographies, IMMENSIVA DAYS explores how emerging technologies are transforming the ways we create, experience and share cultural narratives. The programme connects artistic research with technological innovation, encouraging dialogue around cultural heritage, collective memory, identity, audience engagement and new forms of immersive expression. Participants will have opportunities to experience selected projects developed by international artists and creative technologists, discover their artistic processes and explore the creative possibilities of XR technologies.
A featured lecture, Designing XR Across Cultures, will bring together Masahiro Yamaguchi, Co-Founder & CEO of STYLY, and Kris Pilcher, Director of IMMENSIVA & NUBIA Labs at ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture.
Together, they will explore how immersive experiences can be conceived for different cultural contexts and audiences, examining the creative and technological possibilities of extended reality and spatial computing in an increasingly interconnected world. The session will offer perspectives on the relationship between artistic expression, emerging technologies and the development of immersive experiences across different cultural environments. IMMENSIVA DAYS welcomes university students and academic groups for dedicated visits introducing them to immersive art, interactive environments and emerging creative technologies. These encounters provide an opportunity to experience innovative artistic projects, discover the processes behind their development and engage with contemporary approaches to digital creativity.
IMMENSIVA DAYS will also address the professional and institutional dimensions of cultural innovation, exploring how artistic organisations develop sustainable models, establish partnerships and support experimentation with emerging technologies. A dedicated session with Henrik Sprengel, Co-founder and CEO of ESPRONCEDA, will introduce university students to business and funding models for art institutions, offering insights into cultural entrepreneurship, artistic innovation and institutional development.
The programme will also include opportunities to meet participating artists, explore the development of the IMMENSIVA projects and engage in conversations about the future of immersive artistic practices. An expert jury will evaluate the participating projects and select the winning project of the 2026 edition, recognising artistic excellence, technological innovation and creative experimentation.Through these encounters, IMMENSIVA DAYS 2026 aims to strengthen connections between the artistic, academic, cultural and technological sectors, supporting new perspectives, professional relationships and future collaborations.
Further details about the programme, speakers, sessions and registration will be announced through ESPRONCEDA’s official communication channels.
