VR, Experimental Systems, Spatial Audio and Synthetic Media.

Presented as part of Constellation Lab 2026.

ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture is pleased to present Moving Sound and Making Time, a new exhibition of experimental audiovisual and XR works by creative technologists Uisato and Grimbletron. Presented as part of Constellation Lab, the project explores the relationship between spatial audio, virtual reality, and synthetic media through a body of work developed over a month of shared residency and experimentation at Espronceda.

Uisato and Grimbletron arrived at Espronceda within days of each other at the end of July to participate in the Constellation Lab program, and quickly discovered a shared sense of artistic and technological camaraderie. For the next month, they worked into the early hours of every morning, each pursuing their own experiments with emerging technologies, and regularly resurfacing to compare notes, discoveries and frustrations.

Although they never set out to collaborate directly, living and working alongside one another gradually revealed a common thread in their practices: a curiosity about what happens when unfamiliar technologies are treated not simply as tools, but as materials for play, experimentation and artistic expression. By the end of August, showing the work together felt like a natural conclusion to the month — or, perhaps more accurately, a snapshot of where their experiments had arrived so far.

Moving Sound and Making Time is the presentation of these experiments, with Grimbletron staging his XR experiences based around sound, synesthesia, composition and relaxation, and Uisato presenting audiovisual works and kinetic instruments generated through tools of his own design. Together, the works form a snapshot of a month spent following curiosity wherever it led.

Moving Sound and Making Time developed naturally within the context of Constellation Lab, whose focus on experimentation, prototyping and exchange between artistic and technological practices closely reflects the way both artists worked during their time at Espronceda. Bringing together works developed through XR, generative systems, sound and computation, the exhibition offers a public-facing snapshot of that process: emerging technologies approached not simply as tools, but as materials for creative exploration.

About the artists:

Uisato

Uisato is an audiovisual artist and creative technologist exploring the intersection between technology, emergence, artistic expression, and meaning. Uisato is an audiovisual artist and creative technologist exploring the intersection between technology, emergence, artistic expression, and meaning. His practice investigates emerging technologies as new artistic and filmmaking media, developing experimental audiovisual systems, films, and installations that explore new forms of perception, movement, interaction, and image-making; all accessible through Patreon, and its recently released Uisato Studio.

Matt Grimble (Grimbletron)

Matt Grimble is an audiovisual artist whose work bridges the physical and virtual worlds. After years of experience in music, film, theater, television, and immersive media, he now transforms technical processes into expressive, often surreal, creations. Fascinated by manufacturing systems and the possibilities of code, his practice explores the point where function meets imagination, turning the mechanical into something unexpectedly poetic and human.

About Constellation Lab

Constellation Lab is a collaborative infrastructure connecting professionals, researchers, cultural institutions, and technology organizations across Catalonia. The initiative facilitates access to advanced technologies—including XR, artificial intelligence, and robotics—through research, prototyping, and cross-sector collaboration.

By fostering knowledge exchange between cultural, scientific, academic, and technological communities, Constellation Lab strengthens the regional innovation ecosystem while generating open resources, methodologies, and opportunities for collective experimentation and impact.
