Ovidiu-Valeriu Bojor was born in 1994 in Bistrita, Romania. He graduated with a BA in Visual Arts from Univesity of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2018. His work is focused on the research about how the art takes shape and how it shape the world. He is interested about what are the nowdays tools that helps the artist to create and about how people interact with the art. The goal of his work is to offer to the people new experiences, new perspectives, to open new synapses, to touch deep thoughts and feelings. One of his main interests is about the connection between the spiritual and the physical world and how art can offer a deep self experience for the viewer. He began his artistic path in 2014 while he was working as photojournalist for a local publication, Bistriteanul.ro. Between 2014-2015 he made series of video/photo documentaries about local artists, local personalities, local legends and day by day people. Lately in 2015 he was admitted at University of Arts and Design Cluj-Napoca in the faculty of Photography/Video and PCI. During the first year he discovered a wide range of possibilities. Having good results he was able to get an Erasmus+ scholarship in 2016 and went to study at University Complutense, Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid. There he discovered a much wider range of possibilities than he had discovered in Romania. In mid of 2016 he exhibited photography, drawings and mixed media works in the gallery of the faculty together with the Erasmus+ students. In 2017 he got an internship in ESPRONCEDA Institute of Art & Culture in Barcelona. There he has been working as graphic designer, videomaker and curator assistant. During the 6th months of the internship he collaborated with dozens of artists and several curators that organized events in the institute. The context in which he was there, participating in dozens of exhibitions and events oranizated by the institute it enriched his knowledge and vision.
In 2018 he went back in Romania to finish his BA degree at UAD and got maximum points for his final project. In mid of 2018 he was selected by Expo Maraton and he had first solo exhibition at Galeria Casa Matei in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. After this he was invited to be part of the project P3578 and to participate in collective exhibition at Akiba Gallery, in Tokyo. After graduation he moved back in Barcelona and became art assistant for Elia Sabato, in Parque Urbano Studio. During his stay there studio he had acces to computers and different technologies that Elia was using for his projects. This fact gave him a big boost, applying all he learned for his own research, as an artists. In the end of 2019 he came back in ESPRONCEDA Institute of Art & Culture where he is curently resident artist and is taking care about the production of the projects of the institute. In the beggining of 2020 the institute organized IMMENSIVA residency which is project focused on art and technology. During IMMENSIVA he collaborate with several artists from the spehere of new media, digital art, performance and also with curators, engineers, architecs, business man. In 2020 he created his first immersive artworks, VR/AR projects, videomapping and he started to use complex softweres as Unity or Smode. In June 2020 the institute host Cannes XR and Ovidiu was in charge of the production and the installation of the event. In August 2020 he was selected by Art Lover Ground for a collective exhibition at Nau Bostik in Barcelona. In September 2020 Espronceda organized another event focused on art and technology: IMMENSIVA Festival which contain several events: Vennice VR Expanded, Quintessence Dome Lab, Ars Electronica Solar Orchad Garden where he participated as organizer and also as an artist, creating in paralel artworks and started new projects, personal ones or together with the participant artists. After all he became more curious and interested about how art and technology combines in order to create experiences and a better world.
